At Silkeborg Højskole you will experience Danish college life at its best. In a strong community of young, curious, open-minded people from different cultures you will live, learn, explore, sing and grow – together.

We teach more than 40 different subjects. Based on your interests you may create your own schedule. Choose one main subject, two existential subjects and 3-5 optional subjects.

Main subjects

Existential subjects 

explore the essential “WHYs” of life from different angles and may include:
Philosophy, Aesthetics, Anthropology, Sociology, Religion, Psychology, Ecology, Intercultural learning (English), Pedagogy.

Optional subjects

often have a more practical scope and may include:
Adventure race, Ceramics, Music garage, Graphics, Writing, Beer brewing, Kayaking, Songwriting, Adventure race, Volley, Game theory, Choir and Swimming.

The main language of teaching is Danish. However, English interpretation will be provided in most subjects and common activities.
