Grundtvigs Højskole is a general folk high school located 40 km north of Copenhagen. You create your schedule based on subjects such as politics, art, photography, podcast, literature, music, theatre, movement, cooking, journalism and many more.

INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY
Life at Grundtvigs offers an inclusive community. Together you will have an everyday life that – in addition to teaching – includes everything from singing together, bathing trips, movie nights and parties, hangovers, board games, lectures, concerts, relaxation and much more. We have room for 120 students and are located in Hillerød 40 km north of Copenhagen.
ENVIRONMENT
The school's facilities are always available. They include a gym, library, ceramics workshop, darkroom, music room, studio, jewelry workshop, fireplace room, a lovely park of over 10,000 square meters and much more.
LECTURE
The calendar is filled with musicians, debaters and other exhiting people who visit the folk high school. These include Sebastian Lynggaard, Jalal and Sørine Gotfredsen
OUR HISTORY
Our history is undeniably linked to Grundtvig, and we are proud of that. We stand on the shoulders of his basic ideas. We cherish community, singing, contemplation and wonder.

The semester is divided into two periods, which gives you the opportunity to choose new subjects along the way. You create your own schedule based on more than 30 courses, which you can see here.
The A-subject takes up most of the timetable, and it is consistent throughout the stay, here you can choose between:
PHOTOGRAPHY - Dive into the magical world of photography, where the camera becomes an extension of yourself.
OUT IN NATURE - Practice-oriented subject with focus on tour, nature and skills to stay outside.
PAINTING - Work theoretically and practically with different styles and expressions.
LITERATURE - Write short stories, poems, essays and get acquainted with some of the country's exuberant writers.
RADIO - Get sucked into the amazing world of radio and create your own podcast.
POLITICS - Learn more about the different political layers that shape the society you are a part of.
MUSIC - Develop your own musical expression and get inspired.
The teaching at Grundtvigs is based on curiosity, commitment and professionalism. At the same time, the majority of the folk high school's teachers are still practicing in their subjects alongside folk high school.
Practical information
LOCATION
Grundtvig Folk High School is located in Hillerød, 40 km north of Copenhagen.
ROOMS
We have both double and single rooms with and without private shower and toilet. In the room there are the most necessary things – a bed, a wardrobe, table, chair and a notice board.
FOOD
Our kitchen uses seasonal ingredients. We have the bronze mark in ecology and recycle food as much as possible to reduce food waste.
STUDENT COUNSELLING
If you want to clarify your choice of study, you can use the school's student counsellors.
