Silkeborg Højskole

Are you interested in meeting young people and learning more about Danish culture? At Silkeborg Højskole we welcome students from all countries. The main language of teaching is Danish but you may also choose from a selection of subjects specifically taught in English. Furthermore, English interpretation will be provided in most common activities.

About the school

We offer courses of durations of 5, 6 or 10 months. You may choose from five different main subjects. However, if you do not speak Danish at all, we recommend you join our international programme Change Makers which is taught in English. You may also pick and choose between more than 35 different optional subjects in creating your schedule to fit your personal interests.

Silkeborg Højskole offers six main subjects of which the majority of subjects are suitable for non Danish-speaking students. However, Politics & Debate require fluency in Danish.

At Silkeborg Højskole international involvement is an important part of our DNA. In both classes and social activities we encourage dialogue and understanding between our Danish students and students from different geographical and cultural backgrounds.

Travels

We recommend all our international students to join our Tour de Denmark that takes you on a cultural and political adventure across the country.

We also travel to Japan, India, Lebanon, Palestine, Norway, Malawi, Cuba, Nepal, new Zealand and Canada.

Diet

If you have medical or religious reasons to request a special diet, please contact us upon registration so that we may take appropriate measures to accomodate your needs.
