About the school

Uldum Højskole provide young Danes with an opportunity to extend their education in directions not included in the usual school curriculum, and without the pressure of exams.

At Uldum Højskole we welcome students from other countries to share that opportunity, while improving their knowledge of Danish language and culture.

The town of Uldum, with its environs, is home to a close-knit and friendly community of some 1200 inhabitants. It nestles in a typical Danish landscape of rich farmland and gentle wooded slopes. There is easy access to the larger towns of Vejle and Horsens, and Denmark’s second largest city, Aarhus, is less than an hour’s drive away.

FOLK HIGH SCHOOL LIFE
When the lessons are finished in the late afternoon, it is time for everything we call folk high school life. The swimming pool opens, people work in the workshops, play volleyball in the sports hall, relax in the common rooms, play music in the music house, sweat in the gym, and drink tea in one of the walk-in kitchens.

After dinner, there are a lot of options: concerts, bowling trips, or a trip to the cinema.

The weekends are a chapter of their own. On Fridays, there are events in our cosy café. It can be an casino night, karaoke, live band competitions in table football or dart.

On Saturdays and Sundays. You can relax in the common room, or attend ball games, walks, films.

The café is often the setting for parties; they are big, beautiful, theme parties with a lot of effort and imagination put into making them
